We at BATTI were pleased to invite Dr. Georgi Georgiev to represent Ruse University at the Grand Black Sea Forum and are very happy that he accepted our invitation and joined this important international event.

Ruse University “Angel Kanchev” made a strong and memorable impression at the Grand Black Sea Forum, held in Trabzon, Türkiye, within the framework of the T3N-BSB project.

During the Forum, Dr Georgi Georgiev delivered an outstanding presentation of the HydRU and ElectRU racing teams, which focus on the development of energy-efficient and low-emission vehicles. His presentation successfully highlighted the University’s strong engineering capacity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and long-term commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

HydRU and ElectRU: A Story of Innovation and Success

The HydRU Racing Team, established in 2016 at Ruse University “Angel Kanchev,” has achieved remarkable international recognition through the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The team has participated successfully in multiple editions of the Shell Eco-Marathon, earning prestigious distinctions, including a Best Vehicle Design award and a 5th place worldwide ranking in the hydrogen-powered vehicles category.

Building on this strong foundation, the team entered a new phase in 2025 under the name ElectRU, shifting its focus to battery-electric propulsion and advanced manufacturing technologies. With the ElectRU V1 vehicle, the team successfully competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon 2025 in Poland, continuing its pursuit of excellence in energy efficiency and innovation.

Recognition at the Grand Black Sea Forum

The clarity, technical depth, and innovation potential presented by Dr. Georgi Georgiev were highly appreciated by the Forum’s audience and evaluators. As a result, the showcased HydRU and ElectRU initiatives received formal recognition during the project evaluation activities, earning an award for the quality and impact of the presented work.

Looking Ahead
