Successful GARDEN Steering Committee Meeting

6-7 November 2025 | Montpellier, France

The 5th Steering Committee meeting of the GARDEN Interreg Euro-MED project was successfully held on 6-7 November 2025 in Montpellier, France, hosted by FAB’LIM. The event brought together partners and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean to evaluate progress, exchange knowledge, and plan the next steps toward more sustainable and inclusive local food systems.

 Field Visits & Practical Insights

Participants explored several inspiring social and solidarity initiatives, including:

  • Jardins de Cocagne

  • Biocoop

  • Comptoir des Compagnons

These visits offered valuable insights into local cooperation models, community-supported agriculture, and short food supply chains in action. A forum theatre session inspired discussion and reflection on the challenges surrounding food solidarity logistics, while visits to local producers showcased innovative and resilient practices in sustainable food production.

The working sessions focused on critical areas of the project’s implementation:

  • Pilot site development and construction updates

  • Logistics challenges and innovative solutions

Partners collaboratively assessed achievements and refined upcoming tasks to reinforce collaboration and sustainability across all territories involved.

Strengthening Local Food Systems

The meeting concluded with a visit to the Food Hub’s producers’ market, highlighting the project’s commitment to promoting local, inclusive, and resilient food systems. The experience strengthened the shared mission of GARDEN: to support community-driven, equitable, and sustainable food practices across the Mediterranean region.
