Vision and Mission of the Garden: Interreg Euro Med Project
The vision and mission of the GARDEN project are to ensure that food logistics are environmentally friendly, waste is carefully managed, and urban life blends harmoniously with nature.
This is the core mission of the GARDEN project.
Imagine a future where every piece of food packaging, every container, and every scrap of waste is thoughtfully considered and processed in a way that protects both people and the climate.
To bring this vision to life, GARDEN is establishing six pilot sites across Spain, France, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria. These cities will serve as testing grounds where teams will experiment with innovative solutions powered by renewable energy and biofuels.
However, this journey is not just about technology—it’s about building a model for long-term change. Economists, engineers, and urban planners will work together to tackle the practical challenges of transitioning to a carbon-free future. Every step is taken with a clear purpose, and every solution is designed to be sustainable over time.
Using a “living laboratory” approach, the GARDEN team invites farmers, local authorities, and citizens to join forces. Together, they will develop safe and sustainable methods for transporting food from farm to table, setting the stage for greener, climate-friendly cities of the future.
Through this collaborative effort, the GARDEN project will create a blueprint for urban development and infrastructure, which can be shared and applied worldwide.
