On 7 May 2026, the final transnational meeting of the DANOVA NEXT project took place in Prague, Czech Republic, bringing together all 16 project partners from across the Danube Region. The meeting was hosted by the Czech Smart City Cluster (CSCC) and marked an important milestone in the implementation of the project, which aims to improve the accessibility of public transport for persons with disabilities.
During the meeting, partners reviewed the main project achievements, discussed the finalisation of remaining activities and outputs, and explored opportunities for future cooperation beyond the project lifetime. The agenda included updates on project coordination, financial reporting, monitoring, evaluation activities, the current implementation status and the timeline for submitting final deliverables and outputs.
A key focus of the meeting was Work Package T3, dedicated to testing innovative services designed to increase the accessibility of transport in the Danube Region. Partners discussed the appraisal report on testing activities, the first feedback collected from users involved in the pilot actions, and the measurable impact of the implemented solutions. The discussions also addressed key performance indicators, long-term sustainability and the transferability of project results to other territories and transport systems.
The updated Replication Package was also presented during the meeting. This important output is designed to support stakeholders, public transport providers and decision-makers in replicating the methodologies and accessibility solutions developed within DANOVA NEXT. Partners also shared updates on the organisation of local events that will present the project outcomes, pilot solutions, and recommendations to local and regional stakeholders.
The final part of the programme focused on the completion of project outputs, administrative closure procedures and possible follow-up initiatives. A Steering Committee session was also held, during which the final steps for project closure were officially approved.
Following the official programme, participants took part in a guided tour of Prague and informal networking activities, providing an opportunity to reflect on the successful cooperation achieved throughout the project and to strengthen partnerships for future initiatives.
The final meeting in Prague confirmed the importance of transnational cooperation in creating more accessible, inclusive and user-friendly public transport systems across the Danube Region. DANOVA NEXT leaves behind valuable practical solutions, strong partnerships and a solid foundation for future actions in the field of accessible mobility.
