Within the scope of the project “BSB00168 – Know What You Breathe: Mobilising Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin (AirQuest)”, the BSB AirQuest mobile application has officially been launched for Android users and is now available on Google Play. The iOS version has already been submitted for review and will be published on the App Store after the approval process.

Aimed at raising awareness about air quality in the Black Sea Basin, strengthening public access to environmental information, and engaging communities in decision-making, the new mobile application brings the goals of the AirQuest Project to an even wider audience. BSB AirQuest provides air quality measurements across the basin in an intuitive and accessible format, promoting environmental awareness at both individual and institutional levels.

The application is fully integrated with the CleanAir Analysis Centre, the project’s web-based platform, enabling users to access real-time air quality information at any time through their mobile devices or online.

Key Features

  • Real-Time Air Quality Data: Live AQI, PM2.5, PM10, O₃, and NO₂ measurements.

  • Health Recommendations: Personalised guidance based on local pollution levels, including alerts for sensitive groups.

  • SOS Safety Button: Immediate access to a predefined emergency number.

  • Location-Based Notifications: Air quality alerts for the user’s current location or any city worldwide.

  • Privacy-Focused Design: Free, ad-free, and secure, with no personal data tracking.

BSB AirQuest is the first international, publicly accessible mobile application developed under the project, providing a unified structure for air quality data collected from Black Sea Basin countries. With this new tool, we aim to further promote environmental education, support data-driven policymaking, and inspire sustainability awareness—especially among younger generations.

We believe the application will make a strong positive impact throughout the Black Sea Basin by encouraging informed decisions and healthier communities.
