On 3 February 2026, an international workshop was held in Rabat, Morocco, within the framework of the GARDEN – Greener AgRo-fooD logistics in the mEditerraneaN area project, co-funded by the Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
The event took place at the Agronomic and Veterinary Institute Hassan II and brought together project partners, experts, and representatives of organisations from the European Union and Morocco to exchange experience and present practical solutions for more sustainable and environmentally friendly transport and logistics models.
During the event, the six GARDEN pilot initiatives were presented, addressing different aspects of sustainable agri-food logistics, including electromobility, green transport solutions for local producers, optimisation of local food supply chains, and the introduction of more sustainable public services.
BATTI presented Pilot 4 – “Green Transition for Public Services in Rural Area”, focusing on the green transition in the provision of public services in rural areas.
The presentation provided an opportunity to share the experience gained through the Bulgarian pilot activity with an international audience and to place it within the broader context of the solutions tested by GARDEN partners in different Mediterranean regions.
A special focus of the programme was also placed on knowledge and good practice exchange between European and Moroccan organisations. Participants presented their own initiatives and discussed potential synergies, future partnerships, and new opportunities for cooperation.
The event in Rabat contributed to strengthening international exchange within GARDEN and to promoting the solutions developed by the project for more sustainable, low-carbon and efficient agri-food logistics.
The GARDEN project continues to bring together organisations from different European regions around the common objective of developing, testing and sharing practical solutions that can support the green transition and the sustainable development of local communities.
