On 30 September 2026, BATTI participated in the Annual Stakeholder Conference of the Common Maritime Agenda (CMA) for the Black Sea, held at the International Congress Centre in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The conference took place under the theme “Regional Cooperation for a Thriving Black Sea: Coming Together for the Common Maritime Agenda” and formed part of CMA Black Sea Week 2026, a series of international meetings and initiatives dedicated to sustainable development and cooperation across the Black Sea region.

In 2026, Bulgaria holds the coordinating role of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea, focusing on strengthening regional cooperation, environmental protection, innovation and the sustainable development of the blue economy.

Shared Priorities for a Sustainable Black Sea

The conference brought together representatives of European and national institutions, research organisations, businesses, investors and international partners to discuss opportunities for building a more sustainable, competitive and innovative blue economy.

Key topics included the protection of marine and coastal ecosystems, sustainable use of marine resources, scientific research and technological innovation, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, maritime tourism and investment opportunities across the region.

Particular attention was given to the role of regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges related to climate change, biodiversity protection and sustainable marine environmental management.

Innovative Solutions and Good Practices

One of the conference highlights was the Black Sea Project Awards 2026 ceremony, recognising successful and innovative initiatives contributing to the objectives of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea.

The showcased initiatives focused on three main areas: healthy marine and coastal ecosystems, a competitive and sustainable blue economy, and increased investment opportunities across the Black Sea region.

The conference also featured a dedicated poster exhibition, providing an opportunity to showcase projects, research achievements, innovative technologies and good practices developed by organisations and international partnerships.

BATTI’s Commitment to the Blue Economy

For BATTI, participating in the conference was a valuable opportunity to gain insights into current European and regional priorities, exchange experiences with other organisations and explore possibilities for future cooperation.

The topics addressed during the event are closely aligned with our ongoing work in international initiatives focusing on innovation, technology transfer, sustainable development and environmental protection.

Through our involvement in European-funded projects and international partnerships, BATTI continues to support the development and implementation of practical solutions to regional challenges, including those affecting the Black Sea Basin.

BATTI remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of the blue economy, strengthen international cooperation and protect the Black Sea for future generations.
