On 14 January 2026, the second partner meeting of the ROMAN LEGACY project, implemented with the support of the Interreg Danube Region Programme, was held online. The meeting brought together the project partners to review the progress achieved so far, coordinate ongoing activities, and plan the next stages of project implementation.

A major focus of the programme was the progress made under the project’s three specific objectives. The partners reviewed the activities completed to date and discussed the upcoming tasks and timelines related to the development of a common approach to the presentation and interpretation of Roman heritage across the Danube Region.

The meeting also included an overview of the national expert and networking meetings held in all partner countries. Representatives from each country shared the main results, feedback, and conclusions gathered during these meetings, which will contribute to the further development of the project activities.

One of the key topics discussed was the preparation of the joint interpretation framework, which is an important element in establishing a coherent and recognisable approach to presenting Roman cultural heritage across the territories involved in the project.

The partners also reviewed progress on the Strategy Paper on the common vision and function of the network, as well as the establishment of the Scientific Board, which will contribute expert knowledge and guidance to the project consortium.

Particular attention was given to the development of the future Cultural Route. The partners discussed the feedback collected during the national expert and networking meetings and considered the next steps for shaping a common concept and strengthening the transnational dimension of Roman heritage across the Danube Region.

The second part of the meeting focused on communication and joint branding activities. The partners discussed progress on the joint branding and branding strategy for the Theme Region and Cultural Route, including the approach, future steps, and work schedule until May 2026. Feedback from the branding co-creation activities carried out during the national expert and networking meetings was also reviewed.

The meeting concluded with discussions related to project management and coordination, including first organisational information regarding the upcoming spring meetings in Novi Sad, Serbia, as well as a meeting of the project Steering Committee.

The second partner meeting provided an important opportunity to align the work of the consortium and define the next steps towards achieving the objectives of ROMAN LEGACY, strengthening cooperation between the partners and supporting a joint approach to the presentation and promotion of Roman heritage in the Danube Region.
