On 29 April 2026, the town of Valchi Dol hosted the event “Planting the Future Together”, organised within the framework of the AirQuest – Know What You Breathe: Mobilising Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin project.
The event aimed to present the AirQuest project to the local community and to encourage the active participation of citizens, students, teachers and municipal representatives in initiatives related to a cleaner, greener and healthier urban environment.
The programme began with a presentation of the AirQuest project at the building of the Valchi Dol Municipality. Participants were introduced to the main objectives of the project, which focus on raising public awareness about air quality, environmental protection and the role of citizens in building sustainable local communities.
Following the informational session, participants took part in a practical tree-planting activity in the park near the Valci Dol Stadium. The initiative brought together children, students, teachers, representatives of the local authorities and citizens, who jointly contributed to the greener future of Valchi Dol.
Planting trees is not only a symbolic act, but also an important step towards improving the urban environment, strengthening environmental awareness and encouraging active civic participation. Through such initiatives, the AirQuest project demonstrates that caring for the air, nature, and the community begins with concrete actions at the local level.
