The Grand Black Sea Forum: A Landmark Event for Regional Innovation and Cooperation
Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) will host the Grand Black Sea Forum — one of the flagship events of the T3N-BSB Project — bringing together leading figures from academia, industry, entrepreneurship, and public institutions across the Black Sea region. Scheduled for 10–12 December 2025 in Trabzon, Türkiye, the Forum promises to become a milestone for fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth in the region.
A Dynamic Platform for Knowledge Exchange
Over three days, the Grand Black Sea Forum will serve as a vibrant meeting point where ideas meet opportunities. Participants will gain exclusive insights into the project’s outputs, results, and best practices, while exploring new avenues for national and international cooperation. The event will also showcase cutting-edge technologies developed under the T3N-BSB framework and highlight the potential of the T3N-BSB Portal as a digital collaboration tool for researchers, innovators, and policy-makers.
Key Features of the Forum
The program has been carefully designed to combine inspiration with practical outcomes:
- Four Seminars led by the developers of the most promising technologies identified within the T3N-BSB Project. These sessions will provide hands-on know-how and encourage cross-border technology adoption.
- Two Thematic Workshops aimed at fostering collaboration:
- Workshop 1 will focus on building project consortia around open calls related to the blue economy, low-carbon economy, climate change adaptation, and sustainability.
- Workshop 2 will address specific R&D needs of companies and promote co-designed solutions between universities and industry partners.
- B2B Matchmaking Meetings, with at least 20 sessions planned, will offer researchers, entrepreneurs, and companies the chance to explore partnerships, investment opportunities, and collaborative projects.
- International Project Competition, where over 20 innovative projects will be presented and evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, and potential impact.
Expected Outcomes and Impact
The Grand Black Sea Forum aims to gather over 400 stakeholders from at least four countries, ensuring wide representation and meaningful interaction across sectors. The event will:
- Enhance the visibility and adoption of the project’s digital tools and results,
- Promote real-time collaboration among target groups,
- Generate concrete project ideas and partnerships to advance innovation and sustainability in the Black Sea region.
Looking Beyond the Forum
Far more than a closing event, the Grand Black Sea Forum is envisioned as a launchpad for future cooperation — a space where networks will be strengthened, new initiatives will be born, and shared ambitions will take shape. By uniting science, technology, and entrepreneurship under one roof, the Forum will contribute to a more connected and resilient Black Sea ecosystem.
Join us in Trabzon this December and be part of shaping the future of innovation and cooperation across the Black Sea region.
