The Danova Next Toolkit is a self-assessment tool developed by the Danova Next Project to assist airports, ports, and urban transport facilities in improving their operations. The toolkit, developed with the guidance of BATTI, UM, and the Lead Partner, includes a questionnaire with 60 questions aimed at evaluating accessibility. Upon completion, users receive personalized suggestions for improvement. The toolkit also includes two components: the Suggestions and Good Practices section, based on the D.1.1.3 Updated Catalogue of Best Practices, provides curated insights and recommendations for implementing meaningful changes towards accessibility. The Advanced Technologies section, formed during the 3rd Transnational Working Group meeting, focuses on innovative solutions and offers detailed articles on applying these tools and methodologies to improve transport operations. This makes the toolkit a practical, user-friendly resource for improving accessibility in transport facilities and achieving the goals of the Danova Next Project.

BATTI and its partners developed the Danova Next Toolkit to focus on improving accessibility in transport facilities. The initial structure included a self-assessment survey with 30 questions tailored to individuals with visual, hearing, and mobility impairments. Feedback from partners led to significant improvements in the structure and functionality of the tool.

Partners provided constructive feedback on the categorization of questions and presentation of results. Key suggestions included revised categories, expanding answer options, and visual representation of results. The results of the self-assessment would be presented as a spider web diagram, providing a clear overview of strengths and areas for improvement.

Content adjustments based on feedback highlighted areas for improvement, including enhanced articles, improved questions, and alignment with Universal Design principles. Articles were revised to include more comprehensive descriptions, while questions were refined to better reflect practical considerations. A shift towards Universal Design principles was also discussed, emphasizing solutions that benefit all users rather than specific groups.

The Know-How section

The toolkit serves as a repository of information, offering actionable suggestions based on the Updated Catalogue of Best Practices. These suggestions, referred to as “Good Practices,” guide to implementing improvements in transport facilities. Overall, the Danova Next Toolkit aims to provide practical guidance for improving accessibility in transport facilities.

The Advanced Technologies section

Formed during the 3rd Transnational Working Group meeting, focuses on innovative solutions and offers detailed articles on applying these tools and methodologies to improve transport operations. This makes the toolkit a practical, user-friendly resource for improving accessibility in transport facilities and achieving the goals of the Danova Next Project.
